Biography 

Oscar Camilo de las Flores (born 1974, Santa Ana, El Salvador)

Oscar Camilo de las Flores is a Salvadorian visual artist based in Mexico and Montreal, Quebec. He holds a bachelor’s degree in fine art with honours from the Ontario College of Art and Design in Toronto (1997). In 2005 he was the recipient of the McDowell Fellowship. Oscar founded the Latino Canadian Cultural Association in 2010 dedicated to fostering and supporting the programming of contemporary visual arts exhibitions and multidisciplinary cultural events. 

Oscar Camilo de las Flores's studio work is paper-based, with drawing and printmaking that reflects on the crimes and survival trauma of war, specifically the Civil War in El Salvador. His work has been showcased in the exhibition[SM1] Covídica (2020) at the Casa de la Cultura Oaxaqueña, Mexico, the collective exhibition Nuestros dioses (2019) at the Museo de Arte Prehispánico Rufiño Tamayo, Mexico, and the solo exhibition Bestia Humana (2018) at the Instituto de Artes Gráficas de Oaxaca, Mexico.
