Biography  

lwrds duniam (born 1984, Peru) 

lwrds duniam is an Afro-Peruvian interdisciplinary visual artist, designer, and community educator based in Toronto. They hold a bachelor in fine arts in Integrated Media (2019) from the Ontario College of Art and Design University. They are an advocate and part of the MUJER organization based in Toronto, dedicated to fostering and engaging with Black womanhood from Latin America in Toronto. They collaborated as a designer for Queer, Far, Wherever You Are theatre digital performance and blog series in 2021. 

 lwrds duniam studio work is instructed by decolonial research, and pedagogies of storytelling and through performance, sculpture, and remediated mixed-media they reflect on their healing process of sexual trauma, illness, gender and Blackness and Indigenity. Their work has been part of the collective virtual screening Spellbound (2021), The Witch Institute supported by Queens University in Kingston, Ontario and collective exhibition (Un)usual Spaces (2020), curated by Diana Lopez Soto and Natalie Parkinson Dupley, by Hercinia Arts Collective in Toronto.
