Biography 

Cesar Forero (Colombia, 1966) 

Cesar Forero is a Colombian-Canadian multidisciplinary artist, curator, arts administrator and educator based in Kirkland Lake, Ontario. He holds an MA from the Minnesota State University and a MFA from the University of Waterloo (Ontario), and is the president of the Ontario Society of Artists.

Cesar Forero's sculptures, paintings, and public performances resonate with his coexistence with the Canadian wilderness, calling attention to viewer's relationships and responsibilities to nature and environmental issues. While his performances incorporate bodily movement, his paintings and sculptures depict symbolic natural scenes in a static state.  Forero's work has been featured in the solo exhibitions Roots on the Rock (Propeller Art Gallery, Toronto, 2024); Our Three Worlds (Propeller Art Gallery, Toronto, 2022); Roots (Quest Art School + Gallery, Midland, ON, 2022); Revoloteando (Galería Baupres, Mazatlán, Mexico, 2020, and Campinas, Brazil, 2019); Budding Water (Canadian Sculpture Centre, Toronto, 2017); and Home & Jungle (Vernon, British Columbia, 2010).
