Biography 

Anahí González (Mexico) 

Anahí González is a Mexican interdisciplinary artist based in London, Ontario. Anahí holds a bachelor of communications studies from Universidad del Valle de Mexico-Saltillo in Coahuila, Mexico, a master of fine arts in visual arts from Western University, London, Ontario, and is a PhD candidate in art and visual culture at Western University. In 2022 she was selected to be part of the Art Gallery of Ontario X RBC Emerging Artist Exchange Program for mentorship and to continue further research projects. She has received multiple awards and grants including the national grant FONCA for Young Creators in Mexico (2021–2022) with the project Más allá del Norte. 

Anahí González’s studio work and research are with photographs and installations to engage in conversations about Mexican immigration and its relationship with labour and narratives about race. Her work has been showcased in group and solo exhibitions in Canada, Mexico, Spain, and France. Her MFA thesis solo exhibition The Other Neighbor of El Otro Lado (2021) was showcased simultaneously at el NODO Saltillo in Coahuila, Mexico, and artLab in London, Ontario
