Biography 

Ana Raquel "Guaricha" (b. El Salvador) 

Ana Raquel "Guaricha" is a Salvadoran multidisciplinary artist based in Toronto, Canada. She holds a major in Photography from the Ontario College of Art and Design (OCAD). She also has experience leading artistic community projects with adults, seniors, youth, and children in Latin America and Canada.

Ana Raquel's work spans photography, recycled material, analog and digital collage, public interventions, textile art, performance, illustration, and painting, and is an homage to Latin American ancestrality, womanhood, motherhood, and nature. Ana Raquel's work has been exhibited in the solo exhibition Guarichas (Back Lane Studios, Toronto 2025). Her collective exhibitions include She Imagines (Neruda Arts, St. Jacobs, Ontario, 2024); Stitching Dialogues (Etobicoke Civic Arts Centre, Toronto, 2024); Efecto Mariposa/Butterfly Effect (curated by Sonia Gabriella Gomez, Valeria Teresa Baudille and Alejandra FreelandGallery 1313/Women's Art Association of Canada, Toronto, 2023); 'Roots' Exhibition Series (Arts Etobicoke, 2023); Take Up Arts (Casa Maíz Cultural Centre, Toronto, 2022); Altered Images at Hand (Scotiabank CONTACT Photography Festival, 2021); and La Cosecha/Harvesting Bones (curated by Día De Los Muertos Collective, Peter MacKendrick Community Gallery, Toronto, 2020), among others.
