Rodrigo Barreda is a designer, academic and community organizer with over thirty years’ experience in the arts, cultural, and social sectors. He holds a master’s in design,Strategic Foresight and Innovation from OCAD University located in the traditional territory of the Haudenosaunee, the Anishinaabe and of the Mississauga of the New Credit First Nation, where he also lives. His research explores the diversity of worldviews that inform the relation and participation of private sector operations, local governments, and Kichwa (Atacama region of Chile) communities with lithium mining projects in their territories.Barreda has been an active member of the diasporic Latinx community of artists and designers in Toronto. He is the co-founder of LACAP and Sur Gallery organizations, an Adjunct Professor at OCAD University, a PhD student in the Environmental Studies department at York University and is the Senior Manager of Creative at United Way Greater Toronto.
