Paola (Poli) Wilhelm (b. 1970, Argentina)

Poli Wilhelm is an Argentinian visual artist based in Montréal/Tiohtiá:ke, Canada. She holds a Master’s degree in Visual Arts and Media Arts from the University of Québec in Montreal, and a Bachelor's degree in Visual and Media Arts Teaching from the University of Québec in Montréal. Her professional career includes participation in symposiums such as the Forum Recherche-création 2022: Colloque annuel des personnes étudiantes à la maîtrise en arts visuels et médiatiques de l'UQAM (2022) at the Université du Quèbec à Montréal (UQAM) in Montréal, Canada. Poli has earned multiple awards, notably the Irène Senécal Excellence Award (2021), and the Arprim/Eavm production grant (2021).

Poli Wilhelm’s artistic practice and research engages with archives, family photography, found objects, and souvenirs, exploring their narratives and materiality. She employs both digital and analog strategies to denaturalize original images while altering their temporality. Her work reflects a deep interest in the multiple representation of objects, examining how memory and personal history are embedded in material culture. Poli’s work has been showcased in solo exhibitions such as Tempo (Maison Antoine-Beaudry, Rivière-des-Prairies-Pointe-aux-Trembles, 2024) and De mémoire (From Memory), curated for the UQAM Master’s exhibition at the Maison de la Culture Rosemont-La-Petite-Patrie in Montréal, Canada (2023). She has been part of collective exhibitions such as Groupe de travail sur le livre d'artiste, curated by Emmanuelle Jacques (ARPRIM, 2025) and Habiter le Monde (Arts Sutton, 2022).
