Biography 

Migueltzinta C. Solís  

Migueltzinta C. Solís is a Chicanx/mestizXXX writer and interdisciplinary artist based in Alberta. Migueltzinta holds a bachelor of arts in interdisciplinary studies from the Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington, and a master of fine arts from the University of Lethbridge in Lethbridge, Alberta. Migueltzinta is also pursuing a PhD in cultural, social, and political thought at the University of Lethbridge. Migueltzinta practice has been informed by academic research and writing across many genres including short stories, storytelling, and critical writing. 

Migueltzinta C. Solís studio work is through new media, performance, and textiles to reflect on queerness, identity politics, and their relationship to the land. He has been showcased in several exhibitions including the collective exhibitions The Waste makers on Cornucopia Street (2022) curated by Ian Dawson at Newhaven Art Space in Newhaven, East Sussex, United Kingdom, In Noticing (2021) curated by Tara Lynn MacDougall at Inverness County Centre for the Arts in Inverness, Nova Scotia, and the MFA thesis solo exhibit Landscape Is My Sir (2019) at the Penny Gallery, Dr. Foster James Penny Building, University of Lethbridge.
