Biography 

Delio Delgado (Dominican Republic) 

Delio Delgado is a Dominican visual artist currently based in Hamilton, Ontario. In 1998, Delio Delgado completed a bachelor of fine arts in multidisciplinary studies from the National School of Visual Arts in the Dominican Republic. In 2002, Delio finished studying illustration and visual arts at The School of Design from Altos de Chavon in La Romana, Dominican Republic. After moving to Canada he finished a degree in digital media production and graphic and web design from Mohawk College in Hamilton, Ontario. 

Delio Delgado’s studio work is based on abstract drawings, paintings, and installations to reflect on the immigration experience from the Caribbean to Canada. His work has been included in the collective projects Trail Mix Museum (2022), East Hamilton, Ontario and Urban Green Artscarp (2017) at Sam Lawrence Park in Hamilton. He has showcased in the collective exhibitions Interstices (2016), co-curated by Sally Frater and Tamara Toledo at Sur Gallery in Toronto, and The One and the Many: A Self-portrait in Seven Parts (2015) at Project Row Houses in Houston, Texas.
